
Already mentioned in 1290, pat of the chuch goes back as far as the IX century.
This old castle chapel underwent many transformations during the wars of religion, most notably the constructions of a fortified castle with it's remparts, until Thézan was joigned to the kingdon in 1589.
It was altered in 1802 and it's romain apse, previously formed by three "absides à pans" was rebuilt.
Within were two golden wooden virgins from the XVII and XIX centuries and it possesed a bell dated 1667 which was classified as an historic monument on the 3rd of July 1959.
Work to restore the facade and the stained glass windows was begun in 1992 and finished in 1995.
